Are you in a good mood?

Survival is not for the faint of heart. We are all experiencing its very meaning at some level right now. Now, of course, I could tell you that it is important to keep hoping no matter what, to never give up. And, in some ways this blog will be about that.

It is true that the world we create in our head is the one we create in the real world (Disclaimer: the concept works when the world created in one’s head is not too far from reality). But that doesn’t describe the actual transfer. What do I mean by “transfer”? Good question, I’m glad you asked. By transfer, I mean that no matter how rosy and peachy our imagination can be, that is not the tool to make it happen in reality. The tool needed is much more subtle, much more powerful and much more difficult to generate: I’m talking about the mood. One needs to create a positive mood to create the reality one wants.

But a positive mood is not necessarily enough. Confidence is another essential ingredient. Being resourceful helps too. And being active. And being thorough. And tenacity. And, and, and… In other words, if our imagination is the spark, the mood and its friends are the one actually doing the heavy work.

I am passing the word along for obvious reasons in our difficult time. I tell you what works for me. I keep digging into that old nugget of mine to find solutions and thrive when the world is forcing us all to bend at the knee. Am I successful? Yes and no. That’s not the point. The point is not to give up.
