It is the beginning of January. We have to fasten our seat belts and be ready for another year. Yet, because since Thanksgiving we are going at it like madman and eating all sorts of things that is not good for us, we arrive in this new Year exhausted. Our mind is also drained after all the socializing happening during the holidays.
So, what should you do? How do you recharge your batteries?
I propose Music.
Of course, playing an instrument and letting the fingers do the job while we create something easy, that in itself is very relaxing. But I was talking about listening to music. Just putting on a good old song, something we know and appreciate.
Because we need to spend a little time for ourself. A moment to regroup, if you will. And Music helps meditation, it create a space where we can exist in peace, where tension can be manage and resolved.
Right now, I am “rediscovering” some stuff I used to listen to when I was growing up. And it soothes my mind, it allows it to take a breath. Later on, I will think about what I need to do and I will draw some plans. But right now, please, just for a moment, I am listening to the old friends that help start the musical journey I am still on.
And I am smiling.
