Taylor Hawkins took on an incredible challenge when he joined the Foo-Fighter. I would be frightened to play for Dave Grohl, and more than that, play the very drum parts he wrote (Let’s not forget that Dave Grohl did his own drumming during the first album of the band. As a matter of fact, he played all the parts.). I always liked the energy and style Taylor Hawkins brought to the music and I would say that it was no small feat to become not only an integral member of the rhythm section but its very foundation. He was revered and honored by the community, Stewart Copeland interviewed him when he made his documentary “On drums”. These are two giants talking, but one of them just fell silent. I am sad. I will miss Mr hawkins brillant drumming.
